FORT WORTH, TX: Texas Wesleyan University’s Britannia champion claimed the Red River Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week award for December 3-9.
Champion, a senior forward from Commerce, TX, recorded a double-double as the Lady Rams started conference play with a 66-58 victory over Bacone College (OK). She came off the bench to deliver 17 points and 10 rebounds on 6-of-11 shooting from the field, including 3-of-5 from behind the three-point line. Champion scored all of her points in the first half. The Lady Rams have improved to 7-4 overall and 1-0 in conference play. They will return to action on Monday, December 17, when they travel to Moore, OK, to take on Hillsdale Free Will Baptist. That game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start. |
