FORT WORTH, TX: Texas Wesleyan University head women’s basketball coach Stacy Francis announced today the signing of five transfer-students for the 2009-10 season.
Ashley Davis is a senior transfer-student out of Northern New Mexico College. Last season the 5’8” guard averaged 16.3 points per game while playing under head coach Todd Huffman. Prior to NNMC she played at Weatherford Junior College where she was named NTJCAC Defensive Player of the Year in 2008. Davis is a product of Hirschi High School (Austin, TX) where she was named District MVP in her senior season.
Ashley Johnson is a senior transfer-student out of Northwestern Oklahoma State University. In one season under head coach Milburn Barton, Johnson, a 5’4” guard, averaged 4.7 points and 16 minutes per game. Johnson played two seasons at Paris Junior College where she averaged 7.1 points per game and shot 43.6% from the field. She attended Lancaster High School (Dallas, TX) where she was an Honorable Mention All-State Selection.
Brittany White (5’6”, G) is junior transfer-student from Panola College, where she played under head coach Tracey Stellato.
Tiffany Johnson is a sophomore transfer-student out of Morris College (Sumter, SC). The 5’8” guard averaged 4.8 points per game and 12 minutes per game in one season under head coach Gilbert Wilson. A native of Arlington, TX, Johnson was named team MVP at E.E. Smith High School under coach Dee Hardy.
Kaci Strother (5’8”, F) is a sophomore transfer-student out of East Texas Baptist University where she averaged 2.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 15 minutes per game as a freshman under head coach Lane Loyd. At Kaufman High School (Kaufman, TX) she was a two-time All-District selection under coach Mark Harris. |
