Box Score - vs. Bacone Box Score - vs. John Brown SILOAM SPRINGS, AR: The Texas Wesleyan University volleyball team (4-21, 2-1 RRAC) split a pair of matches this weekend. They took a 3-1 win at Bacone College on Friday night and then fell 3-0 at John Brown University Saturday afternoon.
In Muskogee, OK, the Lady Rams took a Red River Athletic Conference win with scores of 25-12, 25-21, 22-25, and 25-16.
Kristen Venhuizen and Emily Millican led the way with nine kills. Millican just missed a triple-double, adding 23 assists and 20 digs to her performance. Evoni Darling had 21 assists, and Katlynn Romig had 32 digs in the contest.
Against John Brown, the Golden Eagles prevailed with scores of 25-23, 25-10, and 25-15.
Destiny Clemmons led the attack with eight kills. Darling and Millican both had double-doubles. Darling finished with 12 assists and 11 digs, while Millican turned in 10 assists and 19 digs. Romig posted a team-high 22 digs in the match. Texas Wesleyan will host the Red River Athletic Conference crossover tournament on Friday and Sturday. On Friday they will take on UT-Brownsville (2:00 p.m.) and Huston-Tillotson University (6:00 p.m.). On Saturday, they will play Wiley College (10:00 a.m.), Texas College (2:00 p.m.), and Jarvis Christian College (6:00 p.m.). |
