FORT WORTH, TX: Texas Wesleyan University’s Kaitlynn Romig has been named Red River Athletic Conference Volleyball Libero of the Week for the sixth time this season.
Romig, a freshman defender from Mansfield, TX, was a bright spot in a 1-2 week for the Lady Rams. She racked up 68 digs (7.56 per game) with a high of 32 in a win over Bacone. She only committed three receiving errors in 54 total attempts for a receiving percentage of .944. Texas Wesleyan is now 4-21 on the season and 2-1 in conference play.
Chelsea Spadero of the University of Texas-Brownsville was named a Player and Hitter of the Week while Rachel Brown of Southwestern Assemblies of God University (TX) was named Setter of the Week.
Texas Wesleyan will host the Red River Athletic Conference crossover tournament on Friday and Sturday. On Friday they will take on UT-Brownsville (2:00 p.m.) and Huston-Tillotson University (6:00 p.m.). On Saturday, they will play Wiley College (10:00 a.m.), Texas College (2:00 p.m.), and Jarvis Christian College (6:00 p.m.). |
