STEPHENVILLE, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University volleyball team (1-3) suffered a 3-0 loss at Tarleton State University (1-4) on Wednesday.
Tarleton put Texas Wesleyan in an early 8-3 hole before taking game one 25-17. The Lady Rams led game two 15-14, but Tarleton took control with a 6-0 run on their way to a 25-18 win. A 7-0 run in game three put the TexAnns in control at 16-8 before they took a 25-19 win.
Kristen Venhuizen led the Lady Rams with six kills and 11 digs. Evoni Darling posted 15 assists, while Chelsy Covington contributed nine digs.
Tarleton’s Shay Gracy led all players with 12 kills. Jessie Hartman added 18 assists, and Margaret Luedecke finished with 15 digs.
The Lady Rams will return to action on Wednesday, September 9, when they travel to Denton, TX, to take on Texas Woman’s University. That match is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start. |
