The office of Career Services offers a variety of ways to help with resume writing, including

  • Sample resumes to view (on-line and in ARC)
  • Resume Template on computers in ARC
  • Resume critiquing
  • Resume forwarding to perspective employers

Remember that the resume is designed to work for you as a marketing tool. The purpose of the resume is to entice an employer to interview you. The format should present your qualifications in the best light possible to accomplish this goal.

On-Line Resume Samples

Chronological - Focus on work history and experiences. List most recent activities first; however, internships and co-ops should come before part-time work.

Functional - Focus on skills developed. Typically, this format is more appropriate for candidates with extensive full-time work experience.
