PRE-PROFESSIONAL PROGRAM DINNER SET FOR APRIL 28 Texas Wesleyan University’s Pre-Professional Program (3PR) will celebrate its continued success with a dinner at 7 p.m. Monday, April 28, in the Louella Baker Martin Pavilion, 1112 Wesleyan St. The speaker will be pediatric ophthalmologist Dwayne L. Roberts, M.D., a 1991 alumnus. Roberts will be joined by community professionals, 3PR students, faculty, and members of the advisory board.
Miriam Espinosa, dean of the School of Arts and Sciences, and 3PR recently received a grant from the M.D. Anderson Foundation in the amount of $100,000 over two years. The fall 2008 semester marks the 28th anniversary of the foundation's support, through which thousands of students seeking careers in the "helping" professions have received additional enrichment activities, including guest speakers, ethical studies, test preparation (LSAT, MCAT, etc), individual counseling, and mentoring.
