BRASS QUINTET CONCERT OCT. 14

Join Wesleyan Music for an evening of brass ensemble classics on Tuesday, Oct. 14. The Faculty Brass Quintet will perform its inaugural concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, in Martin Hall. The quintet consists of two current, full-time faculty members (Jerome Bierschenk, trumpet; and Bryan English, trombone), Wesleyan alumni, and professional musicians (Brian Standridge, BMEd '81, trumpet; Gerald Wood, horn; Vurl Bland, tuba.) The concert will also include modern and jazz arrangements. Pieces to be performed include Michael Davis' Gotham, Victor Ewald's Brass Quintet No. 3, and Paul Hindemith's Morgenmusik. This will be the first of many performances for the ensemble.
