The department of music at Texas Wesleyan University is proud to announce the selection of this year’s Stephen Barr Memorial Concert performer: Mr. Jing Wang, prize-winning violinist and graduate student at Rice University in Houston, will present a program of solo violin pieces from the standard repertory on Tuesday, March 10, 2009, in Martin Hall on the Texas Wesleyan campus. He will be accompanied by pianist and fellow Rice University graduate student Jeewon Lee.

Wang is the 2007 first prize winner of the 22nd Annual Irving M. Klein International String Competition in San Francisco. The concert will be free and open to the public. Martin Hall is located in the Ann Waggoner Fine Arts Building at 1309 Wesleyan St. For more information, call 817-531-4992 or visit Texas Wesleyan Music.
