MEN’S BASKETBALL SETS SCHOOL RECORD WITH 32 STRAIGHT HOME WINS
The no. 12-ranked Texas Wesleyan University men’s basketball team set a new record with a 32-game home court winning streak at the Sid W. Richardson Center.
The Rams had not lost a game at the Sid Richardson Center since falling to Jarvis Christian College on Jan. 28, 2008. Texas College snapped the streak on Thursday, Feb. 4 with an 82-69 defeat of The Rams.
Senior forward Jeremy Smith led all scorers with 26 points. Junior guard Brian Wanamaker added 15 points and eight rebounds, while senior forward Jamel White finished with 10. Trey Manning and Tajhi Fullwood led the Texas College with 16 points apiece.
With nine games to play, the Rams are now in a tie for first place in the Red River Athletic Conference standings at 9-2. Texas Wesleyan will return to action on Saturday, Feb. 6 when they host Paul Quinn College. The game is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. in the Sid Richardson Center. |
