Location: Brown Lupton Student Center Lobby 3-4 p.m. I Saw a Fish, You Saw an Aquarium: Thinking and Remembering Across Cultures Researchers have long compared the “holistic” thinking style attributed to those who are culturally Asian to the “analytic” thinking style of many who are culturally European American. For instance, someone from Eastern China may consider the entire context of a scene when describing it, while someone who is culturally European American may look at the same scene and focus on objects or beings within that scene. How might these different thinking styles affect situational memory? A unique Asian appetizer (lumpia) will be served to those in attendance. Presented by Dr. Jeremy Newton. Location: Nenetta Burton Carter 115 7 p.m. International Film Night Enjoy the action packed Jet Li martial arts film, Fearless, and free refreshments of popcorn and drinks. Sponsored by Student Life and Gamma Sigma Sigma. Location: Science Lecture Theater
