UPCOMING EVENTS WITH WESLEYAN MUSIC The second concert in the Barr Duo-Piano Concert Series will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 27, in Martin Hall, and feature John Fisher, professor of music, and Bruce McDonald, visiting assistant professor of religion and philosophy. Fisher and McDonald will perform music from the 20th century, including Prokofiev's Sonata No. 3 in A minor, and Copland's El Salón México. The Barr Invitational Duo-Piano Recital series was created to recognize and continue appreciation for the donation to the Music Department by Dr. and Mrs. Barr of three of their personal grand pianos – including the two Baldwin SD-10 concert instruments used on this occasion. The Duisen Duo, comprised of violinist Ordabek Duisen and his sister Dina, will play a recital of music for solo violin and piano by Mozart, Franck, Bartok and Busilovsky at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, in Martin Hall. Dina is currently the accompanist for adjunct Wesleyan music faculty member Joe Davisson. She and her brother are natives of the Republic of Kazakhstan and have played many concerts together in various parts of the world. The Third Annual Alumni Invitational Recital will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 3, in Martin Hall. Stan Graner, '81, will sing selections by Broadway composers, including Stephen Sondheim, Craig Coleman, Leonard Bernstein, and Cole Porter. Ryan Strittmatter, '02, will perform on classical guitar. All three concerts are free and open to the public.
