Personal:

Dr. Martinez, a native of Puerto Rico, loves travel, the tropics and beautiful beaches. He is an avid musician and music collector, he plays the guitar and is currently studying the hammered dulcimer. He is also an avid bird watcher and loves to camp and hike with his son Daniel and with his friends. These days, in addition to being a frequent tennis and racquetball player, Dr. Martinez is a certified open water Scuba diver who intends to dive in as many tropical beaches as time allows.

Dr. Martinez has many research interests; however, his main research focus is in bilingual education, multicultural studies, and language learning, HIGHER EDUCATION ADMINISTRATION.

Dr. Martinez has been a member of the Wesleyan faculty since 1991.
