Work Study

The Work-Study Program is a federally funded, need-based program. To be considered for the award, you must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). International students are encouraged to explore part-time employment on campus. However, international students may not accept federally subsidized work-study positions.

The amount of Work-Study awarded represents eligibility for working on campus and neither commits you to a job nor guarantees you a job on campus. The work study you have been awarded is not a direct payment to your student account and does not reduce the amount you may owe the university. Rather, work study is a way to help you earn the money you need to meet your costs. But you receive priority to find and accept a job on campus. Work-study jobs generally pay minimum wage and are limited to 20 hours or less per week. If you accept an on-campus job, you will be paid for the actual hours worked in each pay period. Depending on the job you select, you may or may not earn the eligibility amount on your award offer.

You can view the positions available to currently enrolled students on the Office of Human Resources page. If you are interested in working on or off campus in a Work Study position, please visit the Office of Human Resources offices to complete the application process.

Award eligibility is based on information that you submitted to the Office of Financial Aid, on the availability of federal, state, and institutional funds, and includes any academic, performance, or departmental scholarships you have been offered.

Awards are subject to revocation and revision based on funding, eligibility and/or enrollment changes.
