Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the Title IV code for Texas Wesleyan? Our Title IV code is 003645.
  • Which FAFSA should I complete? For the Summer 2007, Fall 2007, and Spring 2008, you should complete the 2007-2008 FAFSA.  If applying for aid for Summer 2008, Fall 2008, and Spring2009, you will need to complete the  2008-2009 FAFSA, which is available after January 1, 2008.
  • What is the deadline for completing the FAFSA? There is no deadline!  If you meet eligibility requirements, we will award available funding upon receipt of your FAFSA information. But there is a priority date of April 1 for the Fall semester.  If your information is complete as of that date, you can be assured of receiving maximum funding within the programs for which you are eligible.   All applications will be processed as quickly as possible on a funds available basis. Some programs, particularly grant programs, have limited funds, so the earlier we receive your application and all supporting documents, the greater the chance for you to receive funds from these programs.
  • Is there another application to complete to receive financial aid at Texas Wesleyan? No other applications are necessary to receive an offer of financial aid.  However, if the FAFSA processor selects your FAFSA for "verification", you must submit documents that we request from you. You must also be admitted as a regular degree -seeking student. Students wishing to apply for a student loan must also complete additional steps to receive loan funds.
  • Do I have to apply for financial aid every single year? Yes, your eligibility for financial aid may change significantly especially if you have a different number of family members in college. Renewal of your financial aid eligibility also depends on your satisfactory scholastic progress toward your degree.
  • I sent in my FAFSA over four weeks ago, but haven’t heard anything. What should I do? If you haven’t received your Student Aid Report (SAR) either electronically or by mail, go to FAFSA on the Web at www.fafsa.ed.gov and click “Check status of a submitted FAFSA”. You can also call the federal processor at 1.800.4FED.AID.
  • I transferred from another school. Does my aid transfer too? No your aid will not transfer. Your must reapply for financial aid. You do not have to complete the FAFSA again for the same academic year, however, you will need to ensure that our school is listed on your FAFSA or we cannot review your eligibility.
  • What is an award letter? The Award Letter is the official notification of the amounts and types of financial aid offered to you.  If you are a new student to Wesleyan, you will receive a printed award letter in the mail.  Once you register for classes, you may access your financial aid information via RamLink.  Continuing students at Wesleyan do not receive paper award letters, but may access award information via RamLink.
  • What do I do when I receive my award letter or view my award information via RamLink? There is no additional action necessary to receive your Academic Scholarship or any Grants awarded to you.  It is necessary, however, to either accept or decline your student loan on TGs Loans By Web.
  • What do I do if I need more assistance in aid? Contact Texas Wesleyan's Office of Financial Aid at 817.531.4420 and we can discuss different options with you.
  • How do I know whether I should call the Office of Financial Aid or the Cashier's Office?  The Office of Financial Aid handles your financial aid awarding and processing.  The Cashier's Office handles student account payments, book vouchers, and refund checks.
