7:30 - 8:15 CELEBRATION OF AFRICA: AN EVENING OF ENTERTAINMENT
Enjoy the nationally known group, Ayubu Kamau Sacred Afrikan Drum and Dance Society, as they perform drums, dancing, and interactive story-telling. Fast paced and uplifting, the performance will begin with a traditional African song sung by Wesleyan junior, Sylvie Ndjungu. This exciting evening is sponsored by International Programs.

Bring your lunch from Dora Cafeteria and join four current Wesleyan international students who will share their cultures (in Asia, South America, Africa, and Europe) and their perspectives about studying at Wesleyan as an international student. Come learn about the fascinating origin, history, development and current use of Irish /Gaelic language in Ireland, Canada, and the United States from Dr. Aileen Curtin, an education professor from Ireland. These ancient languages will come alive for you!

Open Mic Night in Spanish! Participants will have 2-3 minutes to present a poem, a scene from a play, a passage from a novel or story, even jokes and songs. You are invited to present original works or a piece by your favorite author. Sponsored by Dr. Amy Bell. Refreshments will be served.

Students are invited to come learn about the study abroad programs at Texas Wesleyan University. Brochures will be available.

1:30 - 3:30 EUROPEAN GAMES
Join the tournaments of boule and kubb - no skill is required. $10 prizes will be given to each member of the winning teams. BOULE (or Petanque) is similar to horseshoes but played with metal balls. It is played throughout Europe with gusto in city parks. KUBB is similar to bowling but played with sticks. It is a Swedish game dating back to the Vikings and has recently enjoyed a surge in popularity with people of all ages in Sweden.

12:30 - 1:15 BRASIL de NOVO
Take in the exotic sights of Brazil and sounds of Portuguese in the multi-media show by Elizabeth Clauser, adjunct professor of English. The presentation will be in English with some Portuguese poetry readings, slides of photographs taken in Brazil, and samples of different styles of Brazilian music. Brazilian beverages will be served.
