Secondary Education is the period of education following elementary education that provides schooling for children between the ages of approximately 12-18 years. This level of education focuses on preparing the students for entry into higher education.

Secondary teachers expose students to previously introduced subjects but look far more deeply into them and their place/purpose in the world. Most secondary teachers specialize in a specific subject that includes biology, chemistry, economics, english, history, mathematics, physics, or Spanish to name a few.
