Graduate Admission's FAQs

1. Why should I attend Texas Wesleyan?


Texas Wesleyan has a big academic reputation and prepares you for your chosen profession. Our professors get to know you and understand that you have other responsibilities outside of your education. They prepare programs built for your lifestyle and goals.

2. Do you have my Graduate program?

We have Graduate programs in Business, Counseling, Education & Nurse Anesthesia.We also have Texas Wesleyan's School of Law.

3. What do I need to be admitted into Graduate School?

  • Meet admission deadlines
  • Submit an application with appropriate application fee
  • Submit official transcripts from all colleges / universities
  • Submit 3 reference letters: Counseling / Education
  • Submit GRE or GMAT scores (if necessary).
  • Submit other documents (varies by program)
  • List of undergraduate education or psychology coursework
  • leveling courses may be necessary for entry

4. How many students are accepted per term?

Administration / Principal Certification- Summer - there are 15 spots for the Historic Campus and 15 spots for the Burleson Site

Administration / Principal Certification- Fall - there are 15 spots for the Historic Campus

Professional Counseling - 15 students are chosen each semester

School Counseling - 15 students are chosen each semester

5. What if I am an alumni?

Texas Wesleyan graduates do not have to order transcripts from colleges and universities attended before graduation. Also, the application fee is automatically waived for alumni.

6. What is the process after I am accepted?

Did you turn in your FASFA? Meet with financial aid (turn in FAFSA application - the school code is 3645)

  1. Counselor contacts student regarding status
  2. Acceptance packet is mailed to the student
  3. Attend orientation / registration & meet with your advisor
  4. Activate student loans and check Ram Link
  5. Activate Web CT account (online only)
  6. Attend class

7. How do my classes transfer?

We recommend that you obtain a copy of your college and university transcript and meet with the a faculty member from your program of choice who will complete an evaluation of your credits. Typically, 1/4 of the credit hours needed to complete the graduate degree may be transferred from another university into our graduate programs, as long they were taken within 7 years of the time of acceptance. (ex. program is 100 hours; transfer 25 credit hours)

8. What is tuition? How much will it cost me to complete this degree?

Tuition for graduate programs vary by discipline.

9. How do I pay for graduate school? Is there any Financial Aid for graduate programs? (M.Ed. only TQ Program)

10. How many students attend Wesleyan? How about per class?

There are 2,939 students currently enrolled at Texas Wesleyan University (1,239 graduate students). Student to faculty ratio is 15:1. The class size varies by discipline, please speak with your advisor.

11. Where is Texas Wesleyan located? Where on campus is the graduate admission office for Counseling and Education?

1201 Wesleyan in Fort Worth, TX, off of Rosedale St. between the main highway of 287, 820, 20, and 30

We are 5 minutes east of Downtown Fort Worth and 30 minutes west of Dallas~an ideal location for social and professional opportunities!

If you are coming from Rosedale and turn onto Wesleyan St., you will make a left on Avenue D. We are on the right hand side in the small building between the Education Building (Dan Waggoner Hall) on Wesleyan street and the Psychology Building (Netta Burton Building) on Avenue D. Enter via the back door facing the psychology building and come down the hall, the office is the first door on the left.

12. Can I fax or email documents for my application?

You can only fax and email your essay and vita all other documents must be offficial and from the institution sending them.

You may have your references email me with their reference letter, but the email address being used must have their name and place of employment included.
