Placement Testing
In order to ensure students are placed in the appropriate college level courses, Texas Wesleyan offers placement testing in math, English, and reading. We use Accuplacer, a computer generated test for our placement testing needs.

All students who have not earned college credit for ENG 1301 are required to take the English Placement Exam. The exam focuses on a student's writing proficiency.

Students without college algebra or its equivalent are required to take the Math Placement Exam. Freshman students who have a Math SAT score of 600 or above or Math ACT score of 28 or above take the Mathematics Placement Examination---Precalculus Form.

All freshman students with an SAT verbal below 530, or the equivalent ACT score, must take the Reading Placement Exam. Students who transfer in with 31 hours or more or with a verbal SAT score of 530 or above or the quivalent ACT score are exempt from taking the exam.
