NCTTA
TEAM COMPETITION CONTINUES
FORT WORTH, TX: The
second day of NCTTA team competition got underway during
the Clear Channel National Collegiate Table Tennis Championships
on Sunday.
Sunday morning's preliminary
round saw a number of fiercely competitive matches.
In the
men's competition, Ohio State (3-0) squeezes by University
of Virginia (1-2) to remain unbeaten in tournament play.
Virginia Tech (2-1) falls early then rallies to pull off
two stunning wins against Auburn (0-3) and Washington (1-2).
Texas
Wesleyan, Princeton, UCSD, University of Toronto, USC and Ohio State remain
unbeaten through the second day of the Men's NCTTA
Championships.
In Women's
competition Texas Wesleyan (1-1) is upset early by USC
(2-0), who remains unbeaten in tournament play, then recovers
to overtake Columbia (0-2).. USC joins Toronto (3-0) and
Stanford (3-0) with unbeaten records.
Sunday’s
team preliminaries will end at 12:00 p.m. and set the stage
for Monday's progressive elimination final.
