Theatre Wesleyan opened its 2006-2007 season with The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged).  The comedy ran September 28-30 and October 4-5 at 7:30 pm with a Sunday matinee at 2:00 pm on October 1.  All performances were in the Thad Smotherman Theatre located in the Sone Fine Arts Building.

The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged), written by Adam Long, Daniel Singer & Jess Winfield, is a parody of the plays written by William Shakespeare with all thirty-seven plays being performed (in shortened form) during the show.  The actors played these abridged versions in a variety of ways from a football game to a cooking show.  Audiences saw a different version of the show every night since the actors sometimes improvised lines and had spontaneous conversations with each other or to the audience.

....

Directed by Connie Whitt-Lambert, Professor of Theatre, the cast included sophomores Dillon Maroney & Michael Kreitzinger and freshman Cari Watson.  “I saw this play in London several years ago and knew that one day I had to direct it,” says Ms. Whitt-Lambert.   “I’ve been waiting for just the right group of theatre students to produce it.”

....

Bryan Stevenson, Technical Director and Wesleyan Alumnus, served as Scenic and Lighting Designer.  Junior Max Marquez was co-lighting designer.  Brynn Bristol, Instructor of Theatre, was Costume Designer.  Sophomore Theatre Major Whitney Park served as Properties designer, mentored by George Miller, another Wesleyan Alumnus.  Sound design was by senior Eric Briggs.  Sophomore Michael Kreitzinger was graphic designer and Junior A’nie Kirchner was stage manager.

..

The production ran September 28 – October 1 and October 4 – 5 at the Thad Smotherman Theatre,

located in the Law Sone Fine Arts Building, 1205 Binkley, on the campus of Texas Wesleyan University.
